I've got the red 5 drawer. Used a 20% coupon on a $199.95 price for a $160.00 plus tax price. It's a beast! Been looking at the black 4 drawer. $99 coupon makes it very desirable! May get in the next few days.

The 5-Drawer US General Service cart compares favorably in terms of quality and finish with brands costing several times as much.
Ditto the 13 drawer 41" US General toolbox.
IMO those are two best buys that HF currently sells.

I had the 4-drawer and went and returned it for the 5 drawer. It was DEFINITELY worth the extra $50 bucks! Build quality is night and day difference! Go with the 5 drawer, you will be very happy with it and yes no problem on using the coupons!

ifi needed a service cart ( i dont),
i wouldnt hestitate to buy on from HF, they seem to be resonably well built, and cheap.
i'd use it till the wheels fell off, then put on new wheels.

Metal Service Carts are a NO NO in my garage. Just to easy to damage a car with them...

I wish someone would build/sell a polypropylene model - something like this one, but with an additional two drawers and screw driver rack etc.

http://www.harborfreight.com/30-inch-x-16-inch-industrial-polypropylene-service-cart-92865.html

I have a RubberMaid cart - somewhat like the above - narrow and easly to get around things in the garage... just needs a little extra storage and a few more nice features to be perfect.

Far less chance of scratching or even denting a fine metal finish on the car...

Just my opinion...

I put thick pipe cover around legs. It helps dings or scratches from the contact.

Seems like pretty good deal for $99. I just don't like red color they use. Faded rough red.

Would get black color.

.

Mac has the MB6UC - it's got a locking lid and you can add drawers for another $120.

I had the red hf and retired it for the napa 7 drawer. It's more costly but really stout, drawers are slightly deeper and had protectors on the corners. Casters mount the same way they do on a large box. Its built like a large roller. More room in till because of locking mechanism. Locking system is very weird-might have to take the whole system out. Think about this cart for sure.

Well, HD had a cart / cabinet combo a few weeks back. For the number of drawers on it, I thought it was a better buy for only 179.99. Don't know if they still have it for that price or not.

Thanks for posting that coupon for the black cart. I just moved to a new city and state last week and for the first time have a garage. Does anyone know where I could get a coupon for the black cart, or a generic 20 or 25% off coupon so I can get 5 dr red cart? Do they put them on sale on July 4? I haven't actually shopped at HF before, but these carts look like just what I need to store my tools at the new house.

I ended up getting the 5 drawer today. Used the 20% super coupon and all after I begged and pleaded with them just to run it. I actually also bought a spark tester and told her to run if for that then and it gave me 20% off of my largest purchase apparently so it worked. Shocked the cashier.

They will be on sale July 4 for 25% off. You can use the coupon pictured above for the black cart. Just print it off the browser or save it as a picture to your HDD and print it from there. The generic 20% off coupons will be in the sunday paper in one of the coupon flyers.

Fabulous, thanks very much!

I picked one up last night; managed to get it assembled and in the back of the truck before the wife came home, too!

This morning a coworker said he'd like one too. The only flaw is that I seem to be short a pair of bolts/washers/nuts, so I haven't put the handle on yet. Will find something around the shop that fits at lunchtime.

i must be the exception to the rule here i HATE that damned cart the frame diamonded pushing it over a crack in the floor

Have a pic of that? I have quite a bit in my 5 drawer cart, and i've even moved it to a diff location and no issues. Mine actually looks and feels like a beefier version of a 10 year old blue point unit someone else at my shop has...

HF runs 25% off coupons practically every holiday. That means that I got mine for $150+tax. compared to craftsman at $350, or SO at $700.

I mean come on, all it has to do is hold the tools.

As others have said, the lock seems flimsy, but that's about it.

Playing with the units at the store, the 5 drawer red cart felt and moved way better than the 4 drawer black cart. That's why I ended up with it, even though i'd have prefered the black color.

I bought the 5 drawer 2 weeks ago and am quite happy with it. Just remove the U S General badge and replace with Snap On sticker and nobody is the wiser.

Mike

There are actually people around here that do that and try to pass it off on CL as either blue point or Snap On. Cracks me up. Then I flag their post.

I second this question. The 20% off coupon specifically states it cannot be used on tool "cabinets". So you probably cant use it on this either.

My store does not have the black 4 drawer in stock unfortunately.

The red5 drawer cart IS on sale for $199 right now as the link provided by the OP shows. Yes, you MAY use the 20% or even the 25% coupons on it when those are available. Final cost $160 or $150 plus tax.

Note that you CAN use the 20 or 25% coupons on a regular or sale priced item, but NOT on top of a super coupon like the one below for the 4 drawer service cart.

If your local store balks at running the coupon through at the register, have them call corporate. Some stores may try to say the coupon can't be used, but they are absolutely wrong. Corporate will correct them.

Great cart BTW. I love mine. Gonna get the black one too.

If the OP needs more space, consider getting both, or 2 of one or the other or even the 13 drawer roller cabinet (Coupon is not usable on the roller).

Bought the 4 drawer about a month back and am already wishing I went with the 5. They are having a tent sale at the end of Aug so maybe I'll get one then. :D

Just as an update since this thread got bumped:

I got mine about 4 weeks ago and have been using it hard at the shop I work at. The drawers slide nicely and does not appear they will wear out prematurely. I like the locking drawers function and I think this was worth the price of the 5 drawer over the 4 drawer alone.

I have not gotten it filled yet and I may not for awhile. My shop provides most of the big and specialty tools.

This may be the best item HF sells as far as what you get for money paid.
