I placed a round area rug on top of carpet, but we use computer chairs on the area rug. What can I put under the area rug, so the chairs move freely?
I’ve thought about carpet casters for the chairs, but I have 7 chairs. I really want something like a computer chair mat, but the rug is almost 9 feet long, so the mat is over $350.
One idea is the low cost rubber mats for a workshop, that snap together.
Thoughts?
EDIT: the 4” carpet casters are $58 each, which adds up on 7 chairs. I did find 3” carpet casters for $15 each. One complaint on the 4” is that they place too much stress on the leg of the chair and the plastic leg did break. I’ll try the 3” on a chair see if that’s not a risk. These are Steelcase chairs and in their day were very expensive, so I can’t afford to lose one.
