I suppose you'd need a screw long enough to go well into the middle of the bulb or else youd be busting those off.

neat idea, but why do you have to break the glass? I guess to give better purchase, I could see a heavy wet towel slipping off the glass. I think I would have got some porcelain bases, screwed those to the wood and installed the bulbs. Keith

I did something similar with an old barn board and a mixed assortment of antique doorknobs. My wife really likes it and that's good.

I like the porcelain base idea for the look.
But the ones I have bought lately are plastic.
I don't know if they would be strong enough.

Clever idea, may have to try that for some hangers for my shop and possibly the house. I like the looks of just the bulbs against the reclaimed wood. Nice find Kevin.
