I'm looking to pick up a 3/8 deep mm socket set to use with a 3/8 12v impact driver.

I'm looking for inexpensive set. I have my snappy for my hand tools but I want something just for this impact, most likely a Milwaukee m12 3/8.

Sub $50 would be nice.

How about the Dewalt set at lowes? $40 for the impact set with carry case.

The Lowes Kobalt sockets are nice. I wouldn't buy anything else Kobalt, but their sockets are real good. The insides a real clean with no jagged edges.

12v impact, actual impact sockets are not my main focus. Hence why i didn't use mention impact sockets. I just left it opened ended.

That GW impact set looks GREAT. Are they really decent? Tool topia ship for free? hard to check on the phone.

Why no listing for kobalt 6pt 3/8 deep mm set?

I bought a cheapo set on ebay back about 6-7 years ago and they were super thin and at one point cracked. I got maybe 30 days of actual usage out of it. At $30, i didn't expect anything lifetime but it was just weak metal.

for that money you should have bought the Autozone Duralast sockets. MIT (made in Taiwan) and lifetime warranty

I'd go to horrible freight for that. I've actually had good luck with their impact sockets. They're a little thick, but I'm ok with that.

For 3/8", I'm sure any cheap impact set wll be fine.

I don't know about their impact sockets, but Kobalt chrome sockets fit horribly. I wish I did not even buy them, but they were cheap.

you can get some real nice deals on PROTO sockets on eBay (chrome and impact). i just got an 11-piece (SAE, 1/2" drive, granted) for $73 from zoro-tools. 3/8" has gotta be even less expensive, i'd guess. epstein's has a nice S-K closeout metric impact set for $35 which i've got but it's 1/2" drive too (sorry, just felt i should call it out).

You gotta watch out for those metric flange nuts. One nut will be 8mm-1.25 with a 13mm hex and then when you go to buy a replacement, it'll be 8mm-1.25 with a 12mm hex. I thought the same thing you did until I figured it out. :D

I have the stanley set from amazon. They aren't a true deep socket set so don't go that route haha

Saw some of the Lowes sockets. Couple had the chrome plate peeling off and stampings were remotely close to perfect.

I used sunex 3/8 sockets on my impact for a few years without an issue, this of course if you arent looking for domestic sockets.

I use sunnex sockets on a daily basis to make my living. 3/8, 1/2 and swivels. Had them for years, no complaints
