MIL does not illuminate with the key in my new to me 2000 integra. My Bosch doesn’t read Honda/Acura. It is a cheap one ($90 on sale) and works great on my American cars.

What is a decent scan tool? Not opposed to spending a couple hundred or so. Snap on and similar are out of my price range for now.

Thanks in advance!

AUTEL 802 worked perfect and gave the same data list as the factory scan tool. Did engine, trans, abs, SRS and body system checks, code retrievel, freeze data and code clearing.
My vehicles were newer. Your 2000 body modules may have less communication.

The next level scan tool with bi directional communication to give commands to the car systems would be substantially more cost.

I use the OTC 3893 Genisys at work for off brand cars. It's pricey but really good. I would think their less expensive models would be good too

Bosch has bought OTC and some other scan tool companies. So if you think the newer tools from different company look the same except for color and logo, you are not imaging things.
