My little Jump Start box that I have used for 10 years finally died. Are there any exceptional ones out there or are they all about the same??? I found one for $500 that looked real nice but I don't believe that I want to spend any where near that much.:shocking:

Died? How? Fix it... it's got to be cheaper.

That's the only item I've ever bought off a tool truck ($100 back in '95). It's putted along for years and will be fixed if it ever dies.

You got remarkable service out of it. Those jump start boxes have a lead acid battery in them, like a car battery EXCEPT it's sealed. They need to be recharged as often as a car battery IMO. Find one of those places that sell all kinds of batteries and see it they have one. I had to try 2 places, the first one said the connectors were angled different on mine, the second one just bent the connectorsand installed the new battery. Cost about $50.

Pull your battery out of it, and take it to an Interstate battery store. They should have one, or be able to get you a replacement. I've gotten them there for customers before.

I sell Automotive paint and body shop supplies for a living. I've found that if you charge them up before ever using them, and then only charge them when they actually need to be charged, that they last a very long time. I've sold different brands over the years, but I have one made my ATD that has been great for me for over 3 years. I have shops that have old ATD ones that are easily as old as mine or older, and I have shops that get new packs every 6 months. Don't charge them unless they need to be charged, and try to use them a little.
