Im a computer tech / AV specialist. Ive got an assortment of tools I have to carry with me for all my installs.

Drill/Impact
Sockets
Lots of Pliers
Lots of screwdrivers
Equipment for running cables in wall
Bunch of random hardware
etc etc

Currently I own a Koblat Mobile tool cart. I love it, but its 3 years old, and made of plastic places it should. (plastic wheels broke off and had to be replaced with lawn mower wheels, now the handle shaft, also plastic is breaking off) Kobalt has been the only one Ive found like this, and they no longer make it.

My tools fill it to the brim, but everything pits perfectly. But I need something new.

Stanley makes a cart somewhat like it, its like $99 and is a horrible design. Cowroker bought one and the whole wheel assemble broke off in 3 months. Also it doesnt come apart. My setup detaches from itself and fits in the trunk/backset of whatever car Im driving. It also has this super nice feature of having storage for a level under the lid of the bottom box. Thats a big thing for me as my level always got forgotten at the office or misplaced. When people cant see your tools, they tend to go missing less.

Why not keep the boxes since they are already set up and find a welding fab shop to make a super tough cart. Since they are building around your boxes they could build in some sort of locking system...

You can have road case companies build you a custom rolling cart. These are technically called "reusable shipping cases." They are the same sorts of cases you see protecting the equipment of rock bands as they tour around the world.

The cool thing is that most of those companies also make custom cases. I've had some made for me.

There are several manufacturers. I like a brand called 'Anvil Cases.' You can tell them exactly what you want for dimensions, how you want it to open (where to put the 'lid), and many other options, including the retractable handle and roller wheels. You can usually choose your colors too. They will also stencil identifying information on the case for you.

If you use these daily, they aren't too expensive (I suspect you could get the larger of those two cases for around $250/300 and the smaller for $150/200, which, in the long run, isn't too much for something you use every day).

Search road case, anvil case.

It's a little pricey, but a Pelican 0450 looks like it would work great.

Ive looked into the pelican. Only down fall is there isnt storage for my Dewalt Drill/Impact/Vac/Light.

Thats the Stanley I was referring to. We actually had 2 at our office. Both broke within 90 days. The part that slides back and has the wheels attached to it is extremely flimsy on it. And the plastic is low quality and cracks.

Did you ever find something? I am looking as well and can't find anything. I was looking at the tough system from dewalt but it is huge and heavy. The cart is nice but it doesn't telescope getting smaller if I just use 1 or 2 boxes instead of them all. Also I use a PDY storage box here:

http://www.pdysystems.com/

It holds a TON of stuff but it is getting too heavy and really a lot of stuff so I am looking for something a little bigger but on wheels!

Thanks,

Neil

Right i posted above the tough system is nice but it is really big and the cart doesn't shrink down to fit in an suv upright.

Here is one I came accross a couple days ago. They are made in Germany. When you unlock the center the 2 sides slide open by themselfs on metal rails. I messed with it for a bit and now impressed by the thought and quality, fit/finish. You can use a padlock on center latch.
The brand is Keeter, I now have come across another product by them which I posted pics of case and Work Table on the form.

Thanks, JASTECH

The beta one is totally awesome. Too bad it is $400 and then another $150 more to get it to the states!
