Looking at possibly getting a paint sprayer (hate brushes and rollers with a passion). Just looking for painting items like below:

-walls
-trim/baseboard (before mounting)
-new bed/bath doors
-possibly kitchen cabinets (old lady wants new, I prefer the price of just giving them a face lift :D)

What do you guys recommend for those types of tasks?

What's your budget?

I've gotten decent results with th $130 Greco/earlex spray station. I've done trim, furniture and full size doors with it. I've put latex thru it without thinning.

My boss wanted to paint his house and he bought the Greco x5 I think. It was the mid tier option at home depot. I want to say it was around $500. That sprays pretty good. It beats my spray station any day but was 3 or 4x more expensive. If I were spraying the walls of a house inside or out, I would go with it.

I've seen pros use the $1500 units that are only sold at specialty paint stores.

I hate painting with a brush or roller as well, seriously hate it. However honestly speaking, for simple house projects like you mentioned it is a lot cheaper, and far less hassle to just do it the regular old way. The masking things off (90% of the work involved spraying), the loss of a lot of paint due to overspray and whatnot, time spent cleaning the gun afterwards, cost of masking supplies, cost of initial purchase of paint apparatus, just not worth it for simple home projects. Did I mention I hate anything to do with painting house related items?

^Going to disagree with seanb02 to a point. If your doors, trim and cabinet doors are not installed, then a paint sprayer is great option. You will NEVER get the same finish quality with rollers or a paint brush that you do with spraying. But like seanb02 said, masking and prep is time consuming and required. I watched pro's videos on painting, and learned a lot. Setup and teardown isn't bad if you have 5 gallon buckets and a utility sink (as to not mess up the wife's pretty kitchen while you clean up!!)

I bought the graco X5 https://www.menards.com/main/conco-professional-paints/piston-pumps/graco-reg-magnum-reg-x5-airless-paint-sprayer/262800/p-1444431547849.htm and it works great. Yes, there is a learning curve as it moves a lot of paint, but once you get the technique down you can move. What I did was setup a paint booth in my garage. Hung plastic sheeting from the rafters, and put it on the floor. Setup everything so I still had room to move around, and went to town.
