Good day to all, I am putting up a picket fence, a lightweight garden fence, wife says no screws, no nail heads! At a former residence, I tore down an existing picket fence that had the pickets attached with staples, amazingly it was rock solid and the pickets were surprisingly very difficult to remove. We had been in the house 6 years when I tore it down so it held solid at least 6 years or more.

I have an air compressor already, thinking of using 1/4 or 7/16? stainless staples 1-1/2 inch long for 5/8 cedar (WRC) pickets going into 2 x 4 cedar rails.

Looking for recommendations on what pneumatic staple gun to buy;

Don't want Made in China which limits the options.

Senco seems to be a good choice and is Made in Taiwan which is fine.

Any input or recommendations would be greatly helpful.

I've had excellent results from Senco over the years. I have a cheaper model but it's a nice little gun. I'm old & removed from what's current but will endorse Senco.

All I can say is that all of my air staplers both narrow and wide crown as well as. Braid mailers and the pancake compressor that runs them are from HF. Have run thousands of fasteners through each with no issues. As a diyer they work great for me.

Wow if your willing to pay for Senco prices for a one off job all the power to ya

But just want to mention if not for yoy for others the Freeman/Numax lineup of nailers (same company two different lines/different warranty) is sold thru Home Depot along with other places (like Amazon for Numax)

Not clear where the actual COO of the product is from the website though the company is based in Georgia.

I have had a Numax finish nailer for quite a few its been flawless for over 2000 fasteners, I can highly recommended it. I also have older Porter Cable narrow Crown Stapler and a HF 2 n 1 18ga

All work fine, though for me I find the finish nailer most useful and the strictly crown stapler (PC) the least used. The other one, the HF falls in the middle and is usually what I grab for staple work in the garage though I'm not all the fond of the larger dent it leaves my work will be mostly rough construction or painted

Also as was pointed out earlier wide crown or narrow Senco has both those choices and also one in between.

When it comes to outdoor work I love cordless tools and I have for Milwaukee nailer, but Freeman markets an 18 ga 2 n 1 narrow crown stapler/ finish nail gun package for less than $150 that might even be cheaper than Ryobi. Might not be necessary for homeowner jobs but sure is convenient :

Thanks to all who commented.

Went with Senco. It will be a good addition to the shop for many future projects once the current project is done.
