Need a quality mini grease gun

3 oz cartridge model, pistol grip, air purge valve would be nice.

Any ideas? Most offerings are now PRC with poor reviews in terms of quality.

I have had good luck with Lincoln grease guns but since I bought mine I believe they have moved production from USA to India. Sooooo... might still be good might not?

My Plews mini has held up well, probably China made. I have another older one in need of a hose that was Taiwan made and sold as Alemite that I should source a hose for as it has the pump on the front which was super convenient.

I know this isn't the 'right' answer. I have a mini because I use grease infrequently but when I do it's half or more of a mini cartridge, then sits again for a year or more. I got one of those Northern ones for $8 or whatever, about 4 years ago and haven't killed it yet. Prior, I had 2 lucas and a (kobalt maybe?) and they didn't last for anything.

as far as the Lincoln, yeah you're right. that 3oz model is now offshore. i need a high quality unit as it's primary use will be filling on flush needle zerks, through a 4" needle extension with a substantial bend. you know, fancy bicycle ****.

years ago, people raved about the "'lil grease gun" from phil wood (a high end bike bearing component manufacturer), but it was horribly overpriced, and likely rebadged. the "new" Phil model looks just like a Lubrimatic.

I looked on the Snap-on website, and the YA4190A (3 oz) is now made in China.

is Alemite still USA made? When I was shopping Lincoln and Alemite were the two names that kept coming up as good.

I just put my father's old US-made Lubrimatic back into service. Easily 30+ years old -- he's been gone almost twenty five -- and it works perfectly. I'm happy not to be in the market right now, although I am following this thread with interest.

maybe i should just buy a cheap-o, and attempt to rebuild right off the bat (have a collection of o-rings and quad rings). what are the sealing surfaces of a typical grease gun made of, gut wise?
