I have been using my el cheapo Job smart air compressor in my lower shop for the past 5 years (I got it for $60 at a yard sale...it was brand new at the time) but today I heard air leaking badly and when I went to turn the regulator it blew off in my hand. It was entirely plastic and broke somehow as you can see in the picture.
So, I am looking for a recommendation to replace it that isn't all plastic. Any brands to recommend? There are so many on the web its hard to filter out what would be a workable replacement.
As an older guy with bi-focals I sometimes take my glasses off to look at things up close but I'm glad I didn't today. The compressor was at a full 125 psi when it blew and the handle and spring shot across the garage.
It was the white piece in this picture that broke...cheap and bad design all the way around.
