Need a Reliable Stud Finder

I went through a couple electronic finders before I started using a magnet. Works just fine in wooden studs by finding nails. While it's true that every nail may not be exactly in the center of the stud it doesn't matter much. What I do is find two nails on the same stud then use a 3 foot level to mark in between the two.

I marked my entire garage like this so I could hang wire shelving up close to the ceiling. Would have taken me three times longer with either of the electronic stud finders I've got in a drawer.

The only two worth purchasing in my experience is the ch hanson magnetic one and the franklin if you choose to go electronic. Have heard nothing but complaints about all others.
