Need a replacement capacitor for my window AC.

I have a window AC and its acting like it needs a new capacitor. I went to repairclinic.com with the model # and they said the capacitor is no longer being made. Was wondering if there would be a better place to look for it, maybe some place still has these in stock or perhaps a substitute that would work. Thx.

you need the specs off the cap voltage & microfarad

yea voltage and microFarad....
also note that some of them are dual capacitor, it have a start capacitor and motor run capacitor build in... Usually you'll see three wires going into that capacitor instead of 2... or in other word it has three connections points.....

I got mine from this guy in California.... off Ebay... works flawless... I think it is TEMCo...

Take it to your local electrical supplier. they will have what you need.

and you can increase the voltage specs, say from 120 to 240, but the microfarads need to be the same as original

Check with a local electrical motor repair shop or AC supply if you have one around. Start caps run about $10 around here. A run cap will have a metal housing. Start caps are usually plastic.
