I've been shopping for a gooseneck barn light to put above my main garage door, but its a challenge to find one that is reasonably priced, but reliable. This one on Amazon seems to be a decent value, but doesn't offer any options for color or the length of the gooseneck projection. https://www.amazon.com/CANARM-BL16W...show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews

I've also found several lighting stores that sell them, and they can be fully configured (shade size, color, projection from the wall, etc.) but by the time you configure all the options you have a $250-$300 light.

Anyone have some recommendations for where to source this style of exterior light?

Thanks,

Bruce

I have the $99 version from Menards, and it works nice, and looks decent. It is aluminum, and comes in black, silver or green.

I have been looking for the same thing. I would like 3-20" lights to put over my garage doors and a smaller matching light (12") to put over the man door. So far no luck without spending $300 each and that isn't in the budget. I may try the lights from Menards but they are only 16" Those Amazon lights look pretty nice also and they might arrive quicker than the Menards lights. I just don't know about black, I would rather have white or galvanized.

Wife and I score them at the FleaMarkets/SwapMeets! I take them apart, sandblast the pipe, new gaskets, new wires, appliance paint the chipped ceramic. They usually come out looking quite nice!

Menards doesn't have stores here, and I've already looked at everything available from HD and Lowes. The Amazon options may be the best for something at a reasonable price.

Thanks,

Finding them online is pretty easy, not paying $300 each for them is another challenge. I have the Northern tool lights on my radar. For those of you using the Northern Tool lights did you go for the LED or regular and use a LED bulb?

I've gotten some new ones from Hi-Lite before, I think they ran about $150. I've also pulled a few used ones and kept them for free.

I have not seen new shades with the enamel coating, they are usually just paint, so they aren't quite the same.

I tried the canarm lights from amazon and those Chinese lights are flimsy, in fact the pair I ordered, one was dented and had to go back. I finally thru research here bought some vintage lights off ebay, the new arms off ebay and was super happy with the way they came out.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Was that a single for sale set or in the market place? Any info on getting a similar set would be appreciated.

I can't seem to find them online, but I was at my local Sam's Club yesterday and they have a pretty decent LED dusk to dawn gooseneck light for $20-$40(can't remember exact price). I'll try and do some more digging and see if I can find it.

That's where my wife has been looking to buy from. Haven't gotten any yet, anyone dealt with them?

I've bought all of my lighting from them. Very high quality and lots of compliments, even from the building inspectors.

They do have sales. On black Friday they had a 25% off everything sale.
