OK, some background: I now have a Kobalt 2-drawer plus tray tool box mounted to a stout homemade hinge at the rear of my pick-up bed. The hinge allows it to swing out of the way or to swing to the tail-gate when I am using the tailgate for a work bench. I do most of my work out of the truck.
The Kobalt box is coming apart, after almost ten years of bouncing down rough roads with 40 lbs of tools inside. I am about to get a new truck and want to have a similar setup, ie, a tool box readily accessible to the tailgate. Security is a concern tho not a driving force since my truck normally is either in my garage or on the ranch.
I also have an across-the-bed tool box for the larger stuff. The Kobalt is just for the smaller wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, sockets, ratchets etc.
Anyone have any cool tool box ideas for the back of a pick-up?
