Edit: New plan:

Basically I need something that has 2 rows or 1 big row. Doesn't matter how many drawers in each row. I want to be able to use the top as work area while adding a row or two.

Doesn't need to be snap-on

Thanks

Matco has some mid boxes that may work. What are you trying to accomplish? What about adding a 36" top chest? Then you have more storage and still have work space.

Buy the top box and take the casters off.

Sometimes I have to move it around if I get a job in 4 or 5 bays over at work.

Trade it off on a KRL 1033. 45" tall.

I'm pretty happy with this one, other than the fact that it's a little short. and KRL was more expensive than this one.

This mac tools box was my old box

Then when I bought the snap-on I kept the Mac's top chest. But now I want to add some height to it and take out the top chest entirely and make a nice workspace on top.

So check this for a salution. How about remove the casters, build a custom frame pit box style with added deep drawer between the new wheels, add side lockers, SS top and lighted hutch with power strip and top locker for those massive blow mold cases. No really a custom chassie really wouldn't be that hard if you got welding skills. I could probably build one for around 150 to 200 bucks in materials.

still looking for something similar.

I've been thinking and I want to put a drawer on top of my rollcab. Just one drawer that is 6-7" height; 24" deep and 73" wide.

Basically the width and depth of the drawer will be the same as my rollcab. And just adding a 6-8" height to my box overall.

That drawer I will use to hold my long prybars and custom tools.

It looks like i'll have to get it custom made, too bad snapon doesn't sell add-on indvidual drawers

I have a Matco 4's 3 bay box with an added top drawer, (1st picture) just as you describe. I also added a wood top and found it is to high to be comfortable working on.

You might be able to bolt a Matco add a drawer on to your snap on box in worst case scenario.

What about if you buy the snap on top chest that you can find and lower the box to where you can still roll it around. I know it sounds crazy. But what you can do is build some brackets and move your wheels to the outside of the box to be able to accomplish the lowering. Just a thought. I'm actually going to be helping a co-worker fab up a lift kit for his box. Speaking of a lift kit, you could always lift it to the desired height :) and its simpler then the lowering. A plate to mount to the box and then round or whatever shape spacer cut to height and bottom plate to mount the caster. Hope something I said at least inspires you.

You could also build your own shorter top box. Build a frame and order the drawers you want and paint the frame to match .
