Anyone know what type of vise this is on the workbench? Sorry for the crappy pics, but this is all I could get from the site. I'm heading to this auction tomorrow morning and hoping to grab it. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=1930063&category=0&zip=19734&kwd= My father-in-laws is interested in the workbench. Hopefully they go up together.

The auction has a lot of stuff I'm into, but something tells me the numbskulls who watch "American Pickers" will drive the prices through the roof. The gas pumps are repops which will probably still go for stupid money:withstupi.

Below average, untrained eye here but it looks like a Wilton Mechanics series or one of the many copies of the same.

What do you think? $60-$80 if they are sold together?? I'm also hoping to get one or two signs at the auction.

If sold together, it might go higher. The vise looks like a Wilton, as mentioned, while I think the bench is a Lyons. If so, it should be a nice solid metal bench.

You might be right especially since there's a lot of auto memorabilia going up. Tool guys will be a'plenty tomorrow. Still hoping that it's bunch of good 'ole boys who have barn fulls of the same stuff. One can hope:).

Yep sure looks like a Lyons bench to me as well.

And the primary value of that bench is the top itself; The legs are fairly easy to come by...

Get a look at the old outboards as well; if not frozen and complete they can be worth something at the right price...

I'll be sure to report back tomorrow on the "garage sale" thread as well as here.

The auction was a joke. The bids that ended on most items were higher than eBay's inflated "Buy-it-now" prices. I did get this sign, but had to pay close to ebay prices for it ($160). Oh well, hopefully the next auction will yield better results:thumbup:.

Oh yeah, the metal table and vise went for $190. Some spendy bidders killed my fun today. It still wasn't a total loss.

You did such a good job with the enlaragement, just seeing if I could match it using Corel Photo Paint.

Close, but not quite. What program did you use?

Gee, that's probably sitting on my machine unnoticed right now. I use Word, Excel and Access all the time.
But my version has higher magnification than yours. That's why it's a little more pixelated. Yup.
Gonna look for PicMgr anyway
Thanks!
