I got a Wilton 1755 Tradesman (Special Edition) with the 4# BASH hammer for $378 looks like they went up to $399 now... the one that is not the SE without the hammer is $478 or more... Mine was $378 shipped from the same vendor. I love mine... so to speak... But I built a pedestal for mine, instead of taking up table space...

Depends on what you want to do with it. If it's just to hold things for welding, there is no need to spend a lot of money. Look on craigslist, your should be able to find a suitable vise for under $75. For my welding table, I bolted an old vise to a truck brake rotor. It's heavy enough to be stable for holding welding projects, yet can be placed in any position needed. I find it to be VERY handy.

A Yost would be good, but you can get good service for welding out of a much lower level vise. This type of swivel vise is a good, disposable vise for welding use:

There are a lot of different sellers of this type of vise out there, can often buy them locally for under $80 if you look around.

They're inexpensive and chinese made, but work real well.

A vise used around a welder will get abused no matter how careful you are. I try to use cheap imported vises or one that has already been abused. My current welding vise is a 4-1/2" Parker that had broken the dynamic jaw off the slide and brazed back together. It was a pretty good repair, but the vise will never be collectable.

Putting a good Yost on a welding table would be like selling your daughter into slavery.
