Hi all! First post, but I have browsed around a bit and have to say some of these garages are unreal!

I am trying to make better use of my garage space. I have a townhouse so my garage is very small. I want to try to keep large items off the floor, such as tires. I want to build a VERY sturdy wheel rack that I can mount to the wall. This rack will have to hold 4 19x9.5 wheels for my M3 with tires, so a lot of weight. I am sure it can be done. With that off the floor I can build a small workbench and storage area for all my tools, I do a lot of work on my car myself.

I need some ideas and clearly I am in the right place, looking in the gallery :)

Pics would help too :)

Thanks!

you could build a "bookcase" type out of simple lumber with a chain to keep them from rolling out...

something like below (my mspaint skills are unprecendented :lol_hitti ) angled shelves to keep them from wanting to roll out, maybe paint it to match the car...

or you could have a local fab shop make you one out of square tube with expanded metal sheets on the side that you can paint it or get it powdercoated... if you were in the St. Louis area, I could get a price together for ya

The Ultimate Garage Handbook has plans on how to build an inexpensive one. Books-a-Million has paperback copies on the shelf & amazon.com also has it for sale.

You could always use a few of these hangers from Griots instead of a rack to store your tires / wheels and other stuff like ladders, extension cords, etc.

LOL perfect! 2 of those 23's should do exactly what I need! I imagine what I'll do though is put them on a 2x6 and then use lag bolts to hold the 2x6 to the wall...

$33 bucks, can't beat that! Just placed the order.

Thanks!
