First post here. Love this place, lots of ideas and info here. I need some advice for a floor coating for my garage which is 500 square feet. I will definitely have to grind the surface as It's coated with paint and has some rust spots. What do you guys recommend for a long lasting, durable shiny finish that will see only light traffic and no heavy mechanical work? I have looked at so many products that my head is about to explode. My budget is around $700 bucks. Can I get what I want for that amount? Thanks.

LOL. OK SO you have some great suppliers here. Armorpoxy, Legacy and obviously myself all have products (and service) to walk you through it. I'm sure we could all tell you why ours is the best too but I will spare you the pitch :)

Have a look around the forum. Lots of great projects from everyone. Rust Bullet would be a good fit for your use and your budget http://www.garageflooringllc.com/rust-bullet-concrete/ but there are tons of options

[The LOL is because I can see all of our replies now on why you should use our specific products]

If you go with the rust bucket. Do you still have to grid? The site says no acid and no grinding. Unsure. Thanks

I really like the epoxies that are available, but one concern that I have is pot time. I understand that once the material is mixed, the installer is on the clock and must work fast. My concern is if I'll be able to work fast enough to apply the epoxy in the right amount in the time allotted. Anyone care to post your experience with this?

Valid concern. That's why we supply our coatings in pre-measured, manageable sizes. Thousands have gone before you with no issues. Trust the process.

I've traded emails with both Justin at Garage Flooring LLC and Scotty at Legacy. Both are very knowledgeable about their respective products and were quick to answer my questions. I have not made my decision about which product I'll use but I'm sure either of those will perform as needed. Thanks to both of you.

Hi
We can come in way under $700 for our deluxe 3 layer system with military grade topcoat. Hardeing is not an issue just by watching our online video and following the instructions. No one has ever had a problem if they followed the mixing directions.
