I've got garage heat, does exactly what I need to do with it being a small garage, however it just takes it a little while for it to heat up. It is a blue flame wall mount unit, it's one of the smaller units so it doesn't have a fan to move the warm air. So I'm trying to figure out what I can use to move the air? I used a box fan sitting on top of one of my work stools, however from what I thought wasn't close to heat it burned up my fan within 5 minutes of use. My garage heated up nicely when it was working it obviously couldn't stand up to the heat. All advice is welcome. Here is a picture of what I'm working with. Thanks for the help.

The heat coming off the heater is going to rise. If you have the room, install a cheap ceiling fan and use that to move the heat down off the ceiling.

I had this setup a few years ago. I put a couple of lag hooks in the ceiling above the unit and hung a 24" box fan to move the hot air that would collect there. It made a world of difference. Cheap too.

I eventually pulled this heater because I felt the fumes made me nauseous and it generated a ton of water vapor that was rusting my tools. I changed to a Mr Heater direct vent until. It has a built in fan for moving air but I still use a secondary fan with it to keep air moving around the garage and the cold concrete floor.

Ya I'm thinking some type of fan is gonna be the way I have to do it. Usually once it's heated up it stays that way. I only leave my on for a short period and once it's heated we are good to go. I've never noticed any water vapor but I guess its from me not running it for more than about 30-45 mins at a time. Thanks for the idea.

A ceiling fan is the best idea so far, a 36" fan with out a light kit won't hang down 8 to 10" unless you have 7' cielings should work great. I can't tell what that cabinet to the left of the heater is made of but the heater is inset and Blue flame requires 8" clearance to the sides and more to the front and it dosent look like you have that I would be concerned with it getting hot. You might double check your manual for clearances. What is in the pvc it looks to close also.

I do have 7' ceilings on where the fan would need to go so that would not be an option. As for the cabinet its made out of plywood and as of now it doesn't get hot at all, it is just shy of 7" away, and for the pvc conduit above the heater is my electrical running through it.

I have seen these with fan options. The fans were installed right inside the unit. I would also watch using any flammable solvents, paint, etc. Thats an open flame.

yea a blower mounts in the top of that unit..
go to the manufacturer and order a blower kit.

you could get a small 110v muffin fan and just mount above it
