Need advice on 2-story heater

I did a search and am coming up short on info. I'm building a 24 x 24 with a 2nd floor, full staircase with opening, fully insulated and insulated door. I'm thinking of using a Hot Dawg/ Modine/ Mr. Heater 50k or 60k btu heater. Would this be a good size to use?

If you do a heat load calculation, you will know what size to use

You'd need to provide a lot more information to do a proper calculation but making a bunch of assumptions, the short answer is, yes.

I'm thinking our house heater is around 80K BTU, works well in 1600 sq/ft. So you are in the ball park at least. If the lower is about a 8' ceiling, then you can heat that with 17K BTU - because that's the size I used in my old shop.

Yes, the lower level has 8' ceilings. I figure about 1100 sq. ft. for both levels. I just don't want to short-change myself and get a 45k btu when I should get a 60 or 75.
I'm assuming with heat rising, that I won't need to add another heater for the 2nd floor if I go with a larger unit. I'm also curious if anybody has done this kind of set-up.
