I have 2 craftsman aluminum 3 ton floor jacks that are both not holding weight. Sears doest sell parts any more and I have tried to change o rings to no avail. I need a low saddle height and prefer aluminum any suggestions? Not too worried about money but want something that lasts

After years of using decent mid-priced jacks, I broke down and purchased a Snap-on FJ200. It is 2 ton not a 3 ton but has not balked one time on lifting any vehicle I have challenged it with and it is used on a daily basis. My other suggestion would be an OTC. Sorry I do not have a model number handy

In aluminum, I think all you'll find is made in China. American Forge and Foundry seems to have a decent reputation, ironically, made in China: http://www.affjaxx.com/aluminum-service-jack-p-325.html. If you want to equate "something that lasts" with COO, then you're looking at Hein-Werner, Milwaukee, and Weaver, all USA made, none aluminum though. In Euro brands, Compac and AC Hydraulics.

The Milwaukee Model 20 is a 2 ton jack, online specs put the shipping wt. at a fairly reasonable 70 lbs.. It's a beautiful jack, it'll set you back around $600 or so.

I have the HF 4 ton rapid lift jack. this jack is low enough to fit under my 89 civic and also lifts my dodge ram 2500 4x4 with no issues. also have the 3 ton version. very happy with both of them.

So you are pretty much just paying for the name in my book name it want you want paint any color you want. Just give me the best bang for the buck and so far our HF jacks have done that with money still in your pocket.

To lift that duramax of yours you might be stuck with steel. The aluminum ones will twist and crack. There was a thread on here at one time where the alum. ones cracked trying to lift too much weight hence your duramax.

I hope you did not mess with the valves. One of them is the overload/safety valve and it is difficult to set without proper test weights.

Contact user HiBall. He is an expert at hydraulic jacks and may be willing to rebuild it (with up grades) for you.

The napa jacks are extremely nice and work great. 3.5 ton and usually $200. They had a camo one that was on sale for $149 last money and then they gave a $10 donation to our soldiers. Ours has held up great, extremely beefy and strong for the great price.
