Hey guys, been lurking for about a month and have got some really good information from this site and decided to register. I'm trying to make up my mind on three options I have at the moment. Would love some opinions.

Classic 78 - $2200
The box is brand new and hasn't even had the handled installed yet. ArmorTech work top is included with the box and is pretty much flawless with no scratches or dents and hasn't even had tools inside.

KRL722 - $2400
Box was purchased at work. Worked out of a smaller box for a month before being moved to office. Box has been in garage since. Virtually new. Plain box.

KRL7022 - $2000
13 drawer version. Excellent condition with no marks. Stainless top included but has a dime size dent (probably could be easily removed). Box is around 5 years old and has been in storage last two of those years. No scratches or dents in the box and has been well taking care of.

All three boxes are about same driving distance. Deals like these rarely show up and most people around here pay close to retail and try to sale for close to retail used. All these prices are pretty much the very least they would take as I have done some serious negotiating on the prices. Would love to hear opinions.

KRL 7022 without a doubt. It's 29" deep while the 722 is 24" deep. Either one of those is a nicer box than the Classic 78.

Even better, the 7022 is the cheapest and has a stainless top.

Certainly nice to see more people choosing the older box. It's electric orange and I prefer that over the arctic silver and black of the other two boxes. Got some serious thinking to do and I'm hoping to get some pictures sooner than Sunday of the KRL7022.

There's is a nice KRL722 in candy apple red on eBay that I would be more than happy to take. Too bad it's located 15 hours away.

^^ What he said^^

Best price, best quality, biggest box, Nice top and the 1st dent is already in it so you don't have to cry when you do it yourself! lol

I'd go with the 7022. It's like building a garage...you never have enough room!

I've got a KRL1001 Southern Thunder base with a 700 series Southern Thunder top box and a KRL1000 series locker that I added the ST trim to. I've still got the thing full... Now if I could just get a nice side box or another locker...

Good luck with your purchase. These can be lifetime boxes if you buy them big enough. I've got one friend that is getting pretty close to 30 years on his box and its still going strong. My ST box is from '99...used it 5 years at the dealership before I "retired" to teaching. The box is at home now and still passes for nearly new in every aspect.

Thanks guys. I feel a lot more comfortable with the older box now. The guy pretty much assured me it was as good as new again today. Will probably try and make the drive this weekend.

KRL7022. A 5 year old 7022 that has been in storage for a couple of years is just getting broke in. I have a Snap-on box from 1968 in my garage that is still being used.

Isn't the KRL line Snap On's high end line?

Are these worth the money or is there better value in Matco, Cornwell etc?

I'd like to get something like a KRL1001 but I don't want to spend more than $1500.

Yes, this is the higher end from Snap On. Matco makes a good box, the other companies have boxes made for them. You can find deals in the price range you mentioned but you gotta be ready to jump quick. Not many people want to pay retail, you do have many competitors. You can't go wrong with the KRL series, it'll last a long time.

Looks like I may be going to pick the box up tomorrow. The Classic 78 is a good looking box and nice price, but I think I would regret choosing it over a KRL7022. Will post some pictures if I do go and pick it up tomorrow.

Total 7022 vote, and I hope you got it already. The deeper drawers make all the difference.
