Hello , I purchase my house 5 years ago and the old owner put ashfalt inside the garage for some reason....Well two weeks ago I decided to foud out why.

It came out pretty easily

Now i do really know what to do it looks like there was salt and water damage and I think its why they put ashfalt over the slab. The concrete at some place is like dust i can even dig 5 inch. Do I just take all the dust of and pour concrete to fill the holes (4-5 inch to 1/4 inch)

You can't fix that. Hire a crew to come in and tear it out and pour you a new slab. Or if you want to go cheap, cover it with asphalt. :D

do yourself a favor and save aggravation and money just pour a new reinforced concrete slab you will love the results . should have it power troweled but the finish is your preference.then all that is left to do is enjoy

I tought about that and I know it would be the best and most durable thing to do but I would like to try to avoid new slab for now , in a near future , im planning to extend the garage ,now its only 14' wide and its hard to work on cars.
So for now just just patching that would be enough but i dont whant something that will turn to sand after 6 month or spend 4 g

am i asking too much? Lol

Yes, I tend to think you are asking too much.

I don’t know any way of doing a cheap repair that would last for a substantial length of time. From the pictures you posted it looks like the old concrete is crumbling and there are spots where it is rather deeply crumbled. I suspect that whatever you do to the floor in the way of repairs the old concrete will continue to crumble. When it does, any patch that you put down will no doubt become un-attached from the old concrete. I am sorry but I can’t think of a cheap way of patching the floor that will last for more than just a few weeks to maybe a few months.

Jack Hammer time !!! :D

Might as well face the inevitable and start the tear-out.

Plan ahead, and only finish the sections that make sense for your total overall plan of expanding the garage long-term. Good luck.

I'm no concrete expert, but I can't see what is effectively a top coat of concrete lasting very long without cracking with the existing concrete base being in such a sorry state. If you decide to go with a temporary top coat, I would still remove as much of the old compromised concrete as possible. Me being extreme, I'd even try to pin to solid old material in those deep areas.

I do hear you in terms of spending money if you plan on going larger soon. If I was your shoes, I'd probably give the temporary fix a try, but I would do it bare bones and not expect much out of the fix. I just have a feeling that in your search for somewhat solid material, you're going to end up busting up most of the original stab in the process.

How about leveling the low spots with sand and then covering the slab with t&g pressure treated plywood. This should get you thru till your ready for new concrete.
