Hey Guys, I need some advice on what to do with my shop floors... A few years back I had a shop fired which destroyed parts of my concrete slab leaving creators in various spots. I've recently finished fixing the patches and I'm about to rent a grinder to clean it up some.
The creators were filled with concrete mix with a skim coat of Portland cement to smooth out the top (probably not the correct way but worked best for me)
My biggest concern is all the dust around the shop- from my understanding I need to treat it with some type of sealer. The shop is 4000square ft and id like to coat about 3000sq ft of it so price is a concern as I'm still rebuilding. I wouldnt mind just a polyurethane? Or concrete sealer except, if its clear you will be able to see all the various patch work (different colors) bleed through. Ideally something with a color or tint so I can make the floors uniform would be best.
Now the catch... I'm about 300' away from a water source and if I wet the floors I don't really have a way to drain out the fluids so a hose/power washer seem to be out of the question for prepping.. Andddd I already have machinery loaded in so I will have to shuffle things around to make it more of a challenge!
I'm not too concerned about hot tire pick up as I can add mats and dont plan on bringing too many cars into my "fab" side of the shop. I was looking into the drylok e1paintbut haven't found many reviews on it... Any suggestions or advice would be great!
