I have a 24x32 with 12ft. walls carport style garage. It's insulated to the gills.Due to a change in heat source I have noticed the roll up doors 10x10 and 8x10 are a tremendous heat loss. Wasn't a problem with the oversize waste oil heater I had but it is now.

Is there and way to insulate these doors? A store bought kit or homemade design. Apperance isn't critical.

On other thing. The 10x10 has to be opened and closed every day. Thanks.

Would probably get more response if you put something about the subject in the title. Like "insulating garage doors."

There are some threads here about what people have done. think most cut foam to fit and glue it in. Could use a little expanding foam around the edges as long as you don't over fill areas. The expansion could distort the door panels and cause trouble. If looks aren't an issue then you are done. I think looks are the main complaint about doing that.

The solid foam is a little less messy than the "picnic cooler" type foam that is a bunch of beads mashed together. It holds up a little better but is a little more expensive.

About the only solution is the foil bubble wrap 'Reflectix'. It's about R3, if there's enough room you could double layer it for R6. I think that's the best you can do without replacing the door.
