The engine number is OL3116. I called partswarehouse.com but they said I would have to buy the complete engine. Can one of you come up with a part number for just the carb? Thanks, Jim
Thanks for your responsenadogall, thanks. I'm sure you're right. Even so, my legwork is beginning to pay off. I have discovered a Generac dealer just blocks from my home and he has the OEM carb in stock for $33. My call was near closing time so I didn't have time to see if that includes the gasket set, but I'll know tomorrow.
P.S. additional research has shown that if I'm willing to go generic, I can get a dual fuel conversion kit, including regulator, carb, and gaskets for $28. on Amazon
Having a "Nice Guy" behind the counter can save you both time and money...... The best deal is probably the local dealer with the OEM, even with the $25 shipping, so I'll be ordering from him. Besides, the guy behind the counter was real nice.
This guy proved you're about right:Based on my automotive experience, I am going to stick my neck out and sat that most engine and carburetor combinations are not carved in stone.
I have seen a lot of mix and match, as long as the bolt pattern and airflow needs are met lots of stuff can be made to work.
Hi All, I bought the carb and gaskets from the local dealer, but by the time I placed the order the carb was no longer in stock. I went ahead and ordered it, and it arrived yesterday from the factory. I installed it and in spite of myself it's running like a top. I'm using the electric start, and now that I'm sure it's running I will save up for a dual fuel kit. I have natural gas service and that's a lot better than running to the gas station in the middle of a hurricane. In most cases natural gas is more dependable than the grid, although there are times when they will cut gas service depending on the wind speed.
Thanks for the support and encouragement, Regards, Jim
