I've finally decided to bite the bullet and install a cieling with insulation on the bottom of my trusses in the shop. I want the avaliability to heat and cool and that would really help out greatly. Below I had some questions if some people who have done this could share some lessons or guidance? I built this barn by myself about 4 years ago, and didn't do the condensation blankets correctly.

-Is this the right cieling material? 8' Durapanel applied from ladder or electric aerial lift? I'm most likely going to be working by myself
-I rented a towable lift below to remove a tree last year, and maybe this style is best to get around most of the objects inside?
-Would I be able to install a complete 2.5 ton AC/93% residential furnace in this?

I'm doing this now.

Your trusses look like they are on 4' centers. Don't do what I did and buy 8' panels... Its not plywood so you need overlap. If its 8' centers then use 9' or 10' panels, you need overlap. I made it work but it cost me time and additional 2x4's.

I used scaffolding to install my panels, 12' ceiling at the bottom cord.

Yes on the HVAC. I replaced my house furnace and ac last winter and took the working old units and moved them to the shop. I have all the ducts run and the furnace up on my mezzanine. I just need to hook it all up now.

Its actually a big day in the Augustus shop. I will finally finish my ceiling panels and install faceplates up there. Almost done...

Get longer panels. Get a scissor lift if you can and scab together some 2x4's so you can just raise the sheets up with the lift and stand underneath to screw it

Agreed on longer panels. I used roll-around scaffolding to install mine. I whipped up two dead men out of scrap wood that held the liner panel just below the bottom chord of the trusses, and I used a drywall lift to raise the panels up to the dead men.

I stole racecougars idea and built a panel holder on my scaffolding. And yeah if you don't have a bunch of **** in your shop while you're working, then go with longer panels
