Hi all,
Looking to buy a compressor, mainly to power my rim clamp atlas tire machine. Problem is, I can only use it on a 110v household type outlet.
Tire machine is not used every day, and when it is used, no more than 2-3 tires at a time. (hobbyist)

I prefer an upright model.

My questions...

Largest size? Belt driven or not? Best manufacturer? Best seller Web site?

Thanks much for your advice.
Greg

To be completely honest about it, if you are trying to run a tire changer, you might need a good 240 volt compressor. Having said that, try to find a splash lubed (not direct drive) compressor with as much CFM capacity as you can get. You will be limited on HP with a 120 volt but if you are willing to wait on it to catch up, it should work.

Try looking for a Campbell Hausfeld (and its clones such as Husky or Kobalt), US General, Dewalt, Porter Cable, etc. The maximum tank size for those is around 26 gallons or so and goes down from there.

What is the breaker & wire size for the outlet you will be using?

I would certainly get a belt-driven, oiled compressor.

I would start by looking at Bel Aire from The Tool Warehouse & go from there.
