Your saying I can't download the concrete onto a USB, plug it into the ground and concrete magically appears?
well damn
We all wish we could, but concrete work is one of those dirty jobs that get done only with sweat, and mankind will never find a technology to replace that.
It always comes down to basics.
Either you do the work yourself, or you pay more to have it done by a professional.
Doing it yourself, you pay for the concrete. Having someone else do it, you pay for concrete and the sweat.
I find there are 3 choices to get concrete work done. None of them involve technology or the internet.
1. Hire a contractor to do it and pay him what he needs to turn a profit and stay in business. The price isn't usually what you would like to pay.
2. Do the site prep and forms yourself, and call a ready mix company to deliver the concrete. Make sure you have some young strong friends to help you that day. You pay for the concrete delivered, beer and food for friends, and a promise to help them on their concrete work in the future.
It saves you lots of money doing it this way.
3. If the job is too small that the ready mix folks don't want to deal with you, get a concrete mixer, haul in your gravel, sand, and cement, and mix it yourself. This is usually even cheaper, but now you have to supply the trucks and mixer to get it done.
In the end, it still comes down to sweat. #1, you pay for someone else's sweat. #2 and #3, you contribute the sweat yourself.
Trying to find a contractor on the internet doesn't make much sense. You want the guy to be as local as possible. Transporting crew, equipment, and concrete will price it out of your range really fast.
