I building a bathroom in my garage with a slab concrete floor. I’m ready to install the shower. I have a 2 inch PVC drain coming through the slab floor (with a trap below the concrete). I’m going to use the PVC sheeting to form the shower pan then tile the hole thing. I need some step by step instructions on how to proceed. Do I need to bust around the pipe to expose an area for the pea gravel or put the membrane right down on the concrete? I know I have to put down a mortar bed with a 1/4" per ft slope toward the drain. The finish floor will be tile. This is an old picture I have all the rough in plumbling/water/vent connection completed and approved by the inspector.
Thanks

Check out this company, I have not used their system yet but intend to if my property purchase goes through thursday. I have been reading about them in fine homebuilding and journal of light construction then was looking at a bunch of the materials while picking up some tile at one of the distributors.

Hot mop?

When you look at the 'total' cost....hot mop is a better deal...

I found a new shower pan on Craiglist for $60. My drain is located 6 1/2 in from shower head front wall and 19" from inside wall to center of the drain. What would be the best way to install this shower pan. I can reroute the drain with a 90* bend and slope to the drain. Is it ok just to set this shower pan on the concrete or do you have to prepare the floor (ie mortar) before setting this pan. I see this will as the most efficient way to complete this before Thanksgiving and the inlaws arrive.: Just looking on some insight on oinstall this pan over the drain in shower picture in my initial post.
