I have a light in the master bath (the one that's inside the toilet area) that does a very subtle flicker on a regular 20 second interval basis... What could be causing that? I was thinking arcing but that wouldn't occur on a regular basis, would it?

any tips or advise is greatly appreciated! I know mechanical stuff, but I know little about electricity! :shocking:

Loose neutral? Bad bulb/connection? Is it on its' own switch? Check wiring connections inside the fixture & at switch. Clean bulb contacts.

P.S. - I'm not an electrician, but I play one on TV.

thanks Ton.. but that 20 second regular interval holds the answer and I can't figure out what would cause it... it's like some sort of harmonic.

Very well could be a loose connection. Wire heats up for 20 secs., light flickers, wire cools. Repeat.

Loose connection somewhere, loose bulb, bad socket, if CFL then a crappy bulb, etc.

Start with the 'easy' stuff and work your way through. Unscrew bulb andscrew it back in - see if problem is still there. Swap bulb to another socket/fixture and see where the flicker is - with the bulb or the socket/circuit. Continue from there.

Sorry for the delay in responding, day got busy.. Yes, it's incandescent and I'll be replacing the bulb in the Morning to start with.. my main concern was an electrical arcing that could be a fire hazard, i can deal with a bad bulb!

thanks all
