Hello all, my first post. My apologies if in the wrong place.

Looking for recommendations on 2 stage regulator coming off the tank. The guy that filled the tank said the current one seen in the pics is a little “ghetto,” don’t like that…

I just installed and plumbed a 420 pound/120 gallon mainly for an outdoor kitchen. In addition to this I added a quick connect port for a portable generator. Hose from quick connect to generator wont have a regulator. Don’t know if needed?

Line then goes underground up to kitchen manifold where I will have a grill, side burner and flat top grill. Hose off of manifold is the ability to add small tank should my big tank ever run out during a cook. Biggest concern I guess is feeding this grill that seems to be a beast.

Generator - Firman H07553 9400W

Grill - TEC PFR2-LP

As I recall in HVAC school, the regulator needs to be able to feed all of your gas appliances' steady-state use requirements when all of them are running simultaneously.
The outdoor temperature and the amount of propane left in the tank also factor in.
The piping sizes (elbows, couplers, etc) from the tank to the regulator and from it, to the appliances will matter.
You may also need dedicated regulators at the appliance to restrict the pressure feeding that appliance.

Do yourself a favor and find a propane regulator manufacturer that might have a design tool where you can input your appliances' requirements relative to the piping sizes and lengths you have.

Thanks for the help! The line coming off of the tank is a 1/2" eastman line 3' in length. All the brass fittings are 3/4" and then the csst line underground is a 3/4" line.

I guess I would assume the generator would only take what it needs and not need to be independently regulated. The initial 2 step regulator off of the tank would be more for the outdoor kitchen appliances.

But I honestly do not know.

Length of the generator gas line?
