Hi all.. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a mini split system!

I've been looking at the 2 kits from acwholesalers.com

I'm having trouble deciding between these 2 kits - both are 24k BTU units. The LAN240HSV / LAU240HSV has a higher effieciency rating and of course it looks a little nicer :) I'm trying to decide if its worth the extra 2-300 bucks. Any thoughts or other items i should be concerned about? These will go in my garage, in kansas which gets hot and cold. I won't use the system that much except when i have project days or will be working out there for long periods of time.

Also - I'll be mounting and running power for these guys - it looks like 12-2 will do it - 25Amp Circuit (with a quick disconnect). Thoughts / Concerns?

LSN240HSV / LSU240HSV - LG 24,000 BTU 18.9 SEER Heat Pump Single Zone Ductless Air Conditioner - $1,574.00

LAN240HSV / LAU240HSV - LG 24,000 BTU 20 SEER Art Cool Heat Pump Ductless Air Conditioner - $1,898.00

Thanks,
Andrew

I personally would go with the 18.9 SEER rating for the money...there's not much difference in the rating to notice any kind of utility bill increase, unless you are just a numbers junkie that plans on staying in your house another 20 years( life of the unit )

12-2 should be fine

Look at all the details of the specs, some of the LG heat pumps will operate at lower temps than others, it may be worthwhile, even if it was only backup heat

I went ahead and ordered the cheaper one.. I doubt I'll be in the house for more than another 5yrs so long term payoff wasnt really worth it.. and i decided apples to apples the non gray one would be just fine for my needs. I'll save the 2-300 and use it on the HVAC guy who's helping me install it.

Thanks for your opinions. I'll take some pics of the install as we get it up.

The 20 seer unit is just this years model vs the old one that is the one it replaces.

I think you would be good with either.
