Need help fiinding a Jacobs chuck part for a tapping head.

The chuck number is 44002
Year unknown but my guess would be 1965 or so, maybe older.

What I need are the clamping plates.

Is there an old catalog or something online to view part numbers of various Jacobs tapping chucks? The Jacobs site is not going back to my vintage stuff. I have two very nice old Aro drills outfitted with the forward and reversing gear drives by pushing and pulling. One is for small taps #10 to 5/16 and the other is for 3/8 up to 5/8. I need the clamping plates for the larger ones.

Do you have the ability to make the two plates if Someone was able to possibly provide dimensions? I can look at the chucks at work, but I dont think ours are that large.

Thanks for the offer. I do have another one that has these parts in it. It belongs to work, I just want to get mine fixed. The dual thread screw will be the hard part. The plates themselves don't pose much of a ptoblem I don't think.
I was just looking for easy way out by buying replacement parts.
Ixll try to look deeper into other sources and if Ll else fails I'll have them reproduced.

That has it listed but nothing when you look up prices. The number is also bit different as mine is a 44002 and this site has a 4402 as does the one in the link in my top post.
I'll dig into this a bit deeper when I get home from work tonight.

You might try the folks over at PracticalMachinist.com, they are more tuned to this sort of specific question.. Not sure exactly what forum this would be, but I'd try there....

I went ahead and snatched this one off Evilbay. I did come across some nice diagrams of my tapper at work. Come to find out some guy saved the old manuals and my tappers were in it. Running those numbers from the catalog was hitting nothing also is why I jumped on this one. I hope it is the same unit. If not looks like mine has the #2 taper adapter already. I didn't want to disassemble it at the end of my shift.

This is the new chuck I bought.



Here it is side by side with the original I was replacing. There is a number difference but they are the same style and make, just different years I suppose.



It works flawlessly again. Now I have two Aro tapper guns one for small taps and one for large taps.
