I'm having no luck finding an odd sized jam nut, and running out of places to try.

stainless steel
1/4"-20 jam nut
right hand thread
3/8" across the flats (not 7/16")

These nuts sit inside a plastic mount. There is not room to use a 7/16 across the flats nut. It has a molded 3/8 hex hole, that the nut sits in and secured, so that the pinch bolt can be tightened.

So far I have tried all of the usual places without any luck. Mcmaster Carr did have a left hand threaded nut that is 3/8" across the flats, but no right hand nuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you use coupling nuts?

You sure it's not supposed to use a 7/16 nut that you tap in a 3/8 hole? wouldn't that be 1/32" too small all the way around. Some call that a cxnt hair.

The 3/8 across the flats nuts snap into the plastic mounts. A 7/16 across the flats don't even come close. Also thought about heating a 7/16 wide nut and melting into the plastic. But the plastic mount is too thin on one side.
