Its a transmission lip seal installer, or at least it works really well for that purpose.

I have some of the feeler gauge type ones that like to cut the seal, and some of the wire loop ones that are flimsy, but I just tried this one and I really like it.

The owner of the tool is a transmission rebuilder and has had it for years, doesn't recall where he got it - possibly from his father who has also been rebuilding transmissions for years.

It is about 8" long give or take and feels like its made of aluminum.

I've searched the net on a couple of occasions for a fair amount of time with no luck. All I find are the ones like I have, the plastic disk deals, or one other style that might be ok:

But I would really like to find the one in my photos, and if anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thank You.

That looks like some sort of dental tool to me. Hopefully others chime in.

The one on ebay looks like it's made from steel strapping. I could make one in about 15 minutes.
