Need help finding assortment of Flex Head E-Torx smallest out there

Hi All.

Just as the title states. I need help finding some E-torx sockets. I have the pain in the *** Alternator Bracket leak on a BMW x5. I talked to one mechanic, and he said he was able to get in there with a flex head socket, not E-torx, because he didn't have one, and got the job done without removing mounts, diff, and all the other nasty **** that makes a $5 gasket cost $500 in labor. I already have an E-torx, cheap **** set I don't even know how I got it. I need to buy a few different options.

I need something low profile, like super shallow. The way I understand it, is that the ******* bolt is between the block and the front diff. So think tight clearances, but enough space that he managed to get a flex socket on it.

I'm thinking some sort of E-torx box end, maybe some pass through socket so that I can get a box end on it. If you have anything come to mind, please share, I would like to order it to be here by Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks.

I found these E-Torx straight wrenches useful removing an alternator on a GM.

If you feel lucky you can try regular Flanke Drive style wrenches/sockets
8mm (5/16") usually fits E10
3/8" fits E12 and 11mm fits E14 - just be careful

E4 is the smallest size, but I've not come across a 1/4" drive set yet, only 3/8" and 1/2" drive sets but am sure 1 of the tool companies make'em in 1/4" drive.

That forcetools is so nice. The price is a bit much to swallow, but if it works, it maybe worth it.

Yea scary to try. The way I hear it, is if I strip that head, I will not only have to move the diff a little, but actually go through the pain of completelly removing it to extract said broken bolt. The beta tools look good, the vim ones look better priced though. Hope they don't fail on me due to cheapness.

They are, I have a set and they're actually pretty decent.

Snap-on makes 1/4" drive universal e-torx sockets. They are not cheap (about $50 a socket) but they are one of my most used tools and have saved many hours and my *** many times.

Either snap on 1/4 or hazet with extension built into flex end are the only ones I know of outside of vim maybe stahlwille too

I recommend looking at samtagsales the have a broad variety of German stuff there

Yeah I had a look on Snap-on's website earlier, they supply them has Mercedes Benz, GM, Ford and Chrysler specialty tools!

Gearwrench and Proto both make a set of E-Torx ratcheting wrenches, but I don't know if that will work for this particular application. You may have to bend them to your needs.

Alternatively, Gearwrench makes flex-head spline ratcheting wrenches that will work on external Torx fasteners.

If you need a 1/4-inch drive E10 flex-socket then you might need to invest in Snap-On, # TSE100.

Thanks guys. The snapon stuff definatelly breaks the wallet. I will get one though, once I hear back from people that did this, as to what size I need exactly.
