Hey guys, I'm looking for a 6-7' H x 48" W x 24" D, Floor cabinet for my garage. I would prefer it to have shelves in the doors so I could store like oil and small stuff, and I need about 3 adjustable shelves in the cabinet itself rated to hold 200-300lbs. per shelf. Casters where it would be easy to move around if you had to would be nice as well, anyone know where I could find a cabinet like that? So far I haven't had any luck :(, any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Or if your cheap like me :)

I found an old biege office cabinet, 6'x3'x1.5', painted it hammered silver, added a kool red stripe on bottom, put a Snap-On sticker on it, added casters and rubber shelfe linners all for about $30. Works great. Look at places that sell used office equipment, government surplus ect.

This is a bad picture but the only one I had, its on the left

I don't know if anybody has ever heard of a discount store called Marc's or not, there are 2 of them in the Columbus, Ohio area. My wife goes in there all the time, it's kinda like Odd Lots, but it also carries groceries. She bought a computer desk and a 72x48x24 cabinet for $40 each. The cabinet is similar to the white ones that Home-Depot and Lowes carry, except it's the faux Oak covering. They're cheap, but I got one of the white ones from HD for $100 and they hold a LOT of ****. You can't beat the price for $40...just paint over the cheap contact paper.

thats a big cabinet. 48" wide and 2' deep is big. You would need some serious hinges on the doors for shelves on the doors scenario. I am going to buy one of these when they are on sale. I have seen them in the craftsman club sale flyer for $239.00 ocassionally. It has 3 adjustable shelves and shelves in the doors. Zero clearance doors also allow it to be placed right next to a wall.

This sounds like a nice DIY project. Basic cabinet building procedures. You can build to the exact size you need. Put the shelves where you want. Make the doors with shelves if you want. Paint it any way you want.
I would use the strongest hinges I could find, and the put swivel casters on the doors to take the weight. (Think about how heavy that box of 24 quarts of oil was.)
