Need help finding correct old air compressor fitting/adapter

Hey all.

So I pulled the motor and cylinder off the old unsafe air compressor and I’m just farting around with it all.

Want to connect a small hose to the outlet of the cylinder for the hell of it… but can’t find the correct fitting/adaptor. Hoping you can help?

The fitting I’m holding is the one that fits and connects the brass tubing to the cylinder, traveling to the end where the tank was.

It’s fine threaded but I can’t find any fine threaded compressor fittings.

I’d like to fit an air compressor fitting / quick release to that somehow. Suggestions?

Point is, go to any store with a plumbing aisle and look at the brass fittings to match it up.

Just tried that. Ace. Lowe’s. HD. Negative results.

looks like a standard compression fitting to me. I believe you're holding it backwards in the second photo, and the coarse side threads into the head.

Photos of the ends of the fitting would help. Is the end that goes into the cylinder head tapered NPT thread? Does the outlet end have a female flare in it?

Found the adapter I needed… in the back of a tool box drawer
