Googled, but found nothing for time spent. The 1/4 by 3 1/4" US Royal belt is for an old B+D orbital sander. Any one know who bought out US Royal belting?

Take a trip down to your local power transmission place. They should have no problems finding one.

I'm constantly amazed at what my local place keeps in-stock. They're crammed into two old barns. I hand them all kinds of odd-ball stuff and the old lady behind the counter always says "Be back in a minute".

They always have it in stock!

Check the MSC and the Grainger web sites. Both companies carry tons of pieces and parts stuff like that.

Definitely will want to check Mcmaster-Carr. They should have it, or if you want something local you can try an old vacuum cleaner or sewing machine repair shop.

I had to find some small v belts for my lathe, and found them at Mcmaster-carr.

Thanks guys, for the input.
I haven't had a chance to check ideas out yet.
I considered using an "o" ring earlier but the section dia. and i.d. combination didn't work. I would need a 1/4" sec. dia. with 2 3/4" i.d.. The smallest chart size for 1/4" is 4 1/2" i.d..

Sorry DHS, I thought I included it in my original post. It's an old chrome job, #44. A real work horse over the years.

I called the local B&D no. some years back and the gal said she couldn't find anything (?), so I gave up at the time.
I used the link from DHS above and emailed them with the info. If no luck there I'll find the B&D factory service center. I have checked Granger, Applied Maintenance America and MSC catalogs. Their narrow belts are 3/8". I also need to check McMasters Carr.

If you are not having any luck check with your local vacuum supply/repair shop. Most vacuums use small belts, they should be able to match one up for you.
