Need help finding...

I have been searching and searching for a particular tool for a long time with no luck. It's a Hitachi 3/8" drive 12v impact wrench. The main reason I want it is because I already have the drill and flashlight combo in 12v and would like to stick with the same battery platform. That and 14.4 volt seems a little too big and 9.6v is a little too small. The problem is I can find the WR 12DMR 1/2" drive version of this tool all day long. But the 3/8" seems nowhere to be found. So all I really need is someone that may have some knowledge of why this tool can't be found.

Looking at Hitachi's North America website, they don't list a 3/8" drive impact wrench like you want. They only show the 1/2" drive version.

I'd call your local service center and see if they have access to the parts to convert a 1/2" drive that's available here to a 3/8" drive that is apparently available in other parts of the world. I know kartracer is trying to do the same thing (maybe 3/8" to 1/2" though) on his 18v DeWalt.

I was kinda thinking along the same lines. I don't see why it can't be done. I'll have to call around and hopefully someone will understand what I'm trying to accomplish.
