I am wiring my new shop, 40’x60’x 16 tall. Doing R19 batts in the walls and Blow insulation in the ceiling.
I am trying to get everything roughed in before the insulation and liner pane go up.
I am thinking infrared heater is what I am going with. I already got the gas line ran, I know I need power up there what about thermostat wireing, how many wires and how big do they need to be to run to the thermostat?

You need to check the manual for the heater.

If it uses a regular thermostat, its switching 24vac control circuits. You need standard t-stat cable you can get a HD,Lowes, etc. A plain heater uses a 2-wire cable (red, white), but run 3-wire in case you want to use a powered smart stat. Then again, it could have a separate fan mode, so you'd need another wire in the cable to control that. Then again, it could only have a remote control which will mysteriously stop working after a couple of years and you don't need any wiring. Gotta RTFM.
