-If you search the internet you'll find an image that identifies all the components including whatever the "back end" is.
Value of this caliper?
-Several factors affect the price, condition is the first. Other features/options available will also affect the "value". Maybe a little research on whatever you have should help with pricing. Are you buying or selling it?

You can assume it should be no newer than 17 years from when that patent was granted. So from patent date to +17 years, search thru the catalogs here.

There is a How to Read pamphlet in there too.

Unfortunately, the value of micrometers has fallen off dramatically in the past 10 years, so $10-20 is the range I would be selling at, and I won't buy them anymore without a specific need at above $5. I just don't need that level of precision.

He's selling it.

Old micrometers are worth very little, but really Dana, your interests may be better served by Worthpoint.

I have a similar question about a Fulton micrometer and who made it. Sold by Sears, it's a German import. 0-1" range with ratchet spindle. Also, it looks like the anvil is adjustable. Closest American made would be some old Brown & Sharpe. The box is only marked on the top and is 5 3/8" long, 2 1/2" wide, 1" high and probably made of pine with finger joints. Any info would be appreciated.

In the United Hardware and Tool catlog 40 I found a Fulton but its a little different and has "Standard" on it. Perhaps they are related?

-Never seen one, nice looking piece. Drop forged frame is a bit unique. Lots of imports from Europe back then.
