Hi everyone,
My first question here, so go easy on me
I'm building a 24x24x10 with 2x4 on 16" studs. I've got just about everything figured out but the garage door framing.
I'm using 2 ply 9 1/2" LVL for the Garage door header with 3 jacks on each side to hold it up. It comes in 18' so might leave the whole length but not sure on that part yet.
My main concern is how do I do the Jamb around the door, I have right now a 2x6 all the way around with it sticking out 1/2" in the front and my sheathing will just **** against it. Brick molding to cover it up but that's for another post. See Door1.jpg
On the inside, it sticks out 1 1/2" and I have the "H" frame to mount my garage door hardware with the flat 2x6 butting on the Jamb. See Door4.jpg and I have one more image with the flat 2x6 removed. See Door3.jpg.
Do you guys think this will work? Any suggestions appreciated.
Cheers,
Claude
