Need help from A\C expert for proper shop ducts

I have a 2000 sq ft shop thats all open(except office and bathroom. It has 14 foot ceiling and i have a Trane furnace out of a 3000 sq ft house..IT has 4 burners on it but im just using it for the A/C....Right now i have the furnace mounted 6ft off the floor with the return air sucking from the bottom and a rounded 90* plenum on top blowing into the shop... i havent ran any duct work b/c i wanted to knwo would it make any difference seeing that the shop is wide open...

Please help...its hot!!!!:flamethro

So, You have a "Package Unit" sitting inside the shop, or outside the shop? And where is the Condensing air being routed too? If you have some pictures, it would help us to help you! Sounds like you will need some metal spiral duct, with diffusers spread out in the shop. I have seen this done and it will distribute the air, but you need to post some pics. to make an honest assesment.

It will work with just a short plenum and a grill or 2. Nice to get a grill with adjustable louvers so you can direct the air around some. I have done several shop furnaces/ac's with just a big grill.

If you want an even temp all over then you should probably run some ductwork with registers cut into the side of it. Just a trunk line along the wall, no need to run small supply runs.
