Need help from the AC guys. Got a new thermostat

Hey guys, When we bought our house 6 years ago it didnt have central heat or air. We had two units installed, one upstairs and one down. The thermostat for the down stairs stopped working so I bought a cheap replacement.

I have something wired wrong, when I turn the thermostat from heat to air it blows the 3 amp fuse on the unit. Here are some pics. Please help.

This is the current thermostat upstairs, its the same one that was originally down stairs.


This is how its wired up, this one works fine, I havent done anything to it.


This is the new one downstairs.


This is how I have it wired. Tell me where I went wrong.

It looks like you have the common wire, blue, under the o circuit you need to have it on the b or not hooked up at all. Is this a heat pump, if it is not just unhook the blue wire.

It's a forced air furnace with cooling unit. Lennox elite model number 13gcsxa

just unhook the blue wire and try that.

maybe should mention that RBWYGO is not necessary the wire coloring, hope you took a pic of old wiring before took it off.... whats hooked up on the other zone thermostat might not be the same as the replacement one.

I unhooked the blue wire and all seems fine now. I did take a pic dogdog, the first pic is the thermostat that was on both upstairs and downstairs units. I didn't want to spend 120 bucks on new one like that so I bought a cheap on to replace the one downstairs and the wiring was different. Thanks for the help guys much obliged
