Need help! How to adjust play in a REED 3C active jaw

Can anyone provide me a tip on how to properly adjust the end play in a REED 3C active vise jaw? So what's happening is it takes a couple of turn to imitate the opening of the active jaw or in turn you can pull the active jaw about an 1/8 of an inch open.

I also have a Reed 3c. You can add washers behind the head of the handle and the front of the jaw if there is any slack there. Another possibility is that the pin holding the nut in the vise body is no longer holding it tight allowing it to slide slightly back and forth while turning the handle.

Remove the little set screw on the right side of the dynamic jaw. Then tighten the split ring nut until all of the play is out of the handle. Put set screw back in and enjoy!
