Need help identifying an adapter

I have a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter. My 3/4 blue point gun twisted the 1/2 part of the adapter off on a 35mm rear axle nut of a Honda S2000. The NitroKat 1200k ended up getting the job done. Anyway, all the adapter says on it is 3/4fx1/2m. No name at all. I checked with Snap-on, Cornwell, and Mac and they all have different designs with their names on them. It's not chrome but impact. I will have to get a picture tomorrow. I did search online and it looks like a Proto but they have their names on theirs too. Any ideas?

I agree, sounds like it could be made by any one other than the truck brands. Might check into Durabilt, don't recall them putting their name on their adaptors.

If you're trying to get it warranted, I know my Proto 3/4" to 1/2" adapter says right on it "no warranty". They know that the torque of a 3/4" exceeds the strength of the 1/2" side.

Why are you asking this? Just throw the pieces in the scrap bucket and buy a new one, this time with a name on it. It broke, its scrap, its relatively cheap, its no name.... get over it and move on with life.

The mere fact it is not chrome does not make it impact. There are tools made using black oxide finish that are not impact, quite common actually.

Like I said in post #2 Chinese/Taiwan made most likely; I took some pictures of a Proto 1/2 drive to 3/4 Drive socket to give you a better idea of a marked proto item.

actually it looks like the HF impact socket design, but not sure if the adapters look the same or not.

just an idea, but before you toss it in the scrap bin, save that 3/4 end, since it's not chrome, you can weld it to something else to make a tool out of...I've used lots of scrap/broken adapters like that when I need a special tool or socket.

Bad news for the op...It was made by the Zhang Lei (Rock pile)/Wang Qiang (strong) company or maybe not in his case. Hey it could have been made by the Wang Wei/Wang Fang co. with a guarantee of out the door off the property 10 seconds and you are not covered any more!

Like is said, most often step down impact adapters are not guaranteed.

Luckily is just a 1/2" female to 1/4" male impact adapter. Buy a good quality one on those, since the bigger tool hits hard. Use also impact sockets too, and take care with them when stepping down sizes, it's not the first one I've seen brake on the side.

If a Blue-Point impact wrench tore that up, there's no point to getting it warrantied, the new one will get torn-up too.

Scrap it, or keep as welding-stock for some project.

Buy a real adapter. I got a Mac off of ebay similar to this one:

Don't forget to buy a couple of extra 1/2-drive inserts.
